New World Blackbirds (Icteridae)

 

The family Icteridae includes New World blackbirds, grackles, meadowlarks, cowbirds, bobolinks, New World orioles, oropendolas, and caciques. There are 29 genera and 114 species, all confined to the Americas, although several species reach Eurasia as vagrants. Many species are associated with wetlands, grasslands or forest edges.
