The Boraginaceae includes 155 genera and 2,686 species of herbs, shrubs, and trees distributed worldwide. Most species have inflorescences with five-petal bell-shaped or tubular flowers. These plants have hairy leaves, linear or lance-shaped. Many Boraginaceae are pollinated by hymenopterans, such as bees. The fruit is a drupe, sometimes fleshy.
