Combretaceae (Indian Almond)

 

The Combretaceae includes 17 genera and 480 species of trees, shrubs, and lianas. The family is widespread in the subtropics and tropics. Three genera, Conocarpus, Laguncularia, and Lumnitzera, are mangroves. The leaves are simple, alternate or opposite, entire. The flowers are actinomorphic, with 4-5 sepals and petals. The fruit is a flattened, ribbed, or winged drupe.
