Rosaceae (Rose)

The rose family includes 91 genera and 4,828 described species of herbs, shrubs, and trees. Most species are deciduous, but some are evergreen. The Rosaceae are distributed worldwide (except for Antarctica), but are most diverse in the temperate and subtropical regions of the Northern Hemisphere. Many edible fruit, such as apples, pears, apricots, plums, cherries, peaches, raspberries, and strawberries, come from the Rosaceae.
