White-throated Woodrat (Neotoma albigula) has been recently split into two species: Western and Eastern White-throated Woodrats (N. albigula and N. leucodon, respectively). The present species occurs east of Rio Grande in New Mexico and Texas (e.g., see Reid 2006).
