Arisaema macrospathum is confined to cloud forests of northern and central Mexico, from Nuevo Leon to Morelos and Veracruz. It is a perennial herb, 35-50cm in height; the spathe is green, sometimes with reddish or pale stripes. The fruit is a berry; red when ripened.
