Nasute Termites (Nasutitermitinae)

 

The Nasutitermitinae is a subfamily of the Termitidae. All species of this subfamily have soldiers with a pointed snout at the front of their heads. The soldiers are smaller than the workers, in most species. The Nasutitermitinae contains nearly 77 genera and 600 species, distributed mostly in the tropics and subtropics.
