Narrow-winged Damselflies
(Coenagrionidae)

 

The Coenagrionidae are the largest damselfly family, and distributed nearly worldwide. It contains 6 subfamilies, over 90 genera, and ca. 1,100 species. These damselflies have narrow, stalked, and colorless wings. Adults are usually seen around ponds, wetlands, and rivers, where the females lay their eggs among submerged vegetation.
