Oecanthus quadripunctatus is found in southern Canada and throughout the contiguous United States; apparently also in Mexico. This species inhabits woodlands, savannas, shrublands, meadows, fencerows, abandoned fields, and gardens. Length 13-15 mm. One generation in the north (July to September-October) and two or more generations in the south (May through December or year-round in southmost parts of its range).
