Cancer irroratus Say, 1817 Atlantic Rock Crab

Cancer irroratus occurs on the eastern coast of North America from Labrador to South Carolina, and also in Iceland. This species is frequently found in the intertidal zone and shallow water, but also down to depth of 500-800 m. The Rock Crab is one of the most common species of inshore crabs in Atlantic Canada.
