Coreopsis lanceolata is a perennial herb native to the eastern and central United States and southern Ontario in Canada. It has been introduced, and naturalized, on the West Coast of North America, in South America, South Africa, the Middle East, and East Asia. It prefers sandy, well-drained soils, but also grows on rocky soils; from near seal level to 1,000 m. Lance-leaved Coreopsis flowers in May through August.
