Cordia boissieri is an evergreen shrub or small tree (up to 5-7 m) native to northeastern and central Mexico, and the Lower Rio Grande Valley of south Texas. It grows on well drained soils, e.g., in thornscrub. The flowers are white, and funnel-shaped, and may be present on the tree throughout the year. Genus Cordia is sometimes placed in a family of their own, the Cordiaceae.
