Parides tros is endemic to the Atlantic Forest Region of southeastern Brazil, where it ranges from Espirito Santo to Santa Catarina. The caterpillar feeds on the pipevine (Aristolochia spp.). There are 2 subspecies; P. t. tros occurs in Espirito Santo, Rio de Janeiro, and São Paulo.
