Ord's Kangaroo Rat (Dipodomys ordii) |
Dipodomys ordii is a common species in western North America, specifically the Great Plains and the Great Basin, from extreme southwestern Canada (southern Alberta and Saskatchewan) to central Mexico. Ord's Kangaroo Rat is associated with semi-arid grasslands and scrublands, typically on fine-textured, sandy soils. This species feeds on seeds of grasses and forbs, green and dry vegetation.
