Hedge False Bindweed (Calystegia sepium)

Calystegia sepium is found in North America, southern South America (Argentina), northern Africa, Europe, temperate Asia, and Australasia. It is native in many areas, but introduced elsewhere. This species grows in meadows, wetland margins, riverine habitats, beaches, fields, pastures, and other disturbed habitats. C. sepium is a herbaceous perennial vine, 2-5 m long. The leaves are simple, arrowhead shaped, and spirally arranged. The flowers are trumpet-shaped, white, or pale pink. The fruit is a spherical capsule containing 2-4 black seeds.
