Acanthocephala latipes (Drury, 1782)

 

Synonyms: Metapodius albicollis, Lygaeus compressipes, Metapodius sericeicollis

 

 

Acanthocephala latipes is found in the Neotropics, from Costa Rica to southern Brazil and northern Argentina. It feeds on sap of plants, including the introduced watermelon (Citrulus lunatus). No other biology details.
