Ceratina calcarata is a species of carpenter bee found in eastern North America from Ontario and Nova Scotia, south to Missouri and Georgia. This is a small, mostly solitary bee, bluish to blue-green, 5-8 mm in length. It is seen from March to October. Eggs are laid in pith of broken plant stems and twigs. C. calcarata feeds on nectar and pollen of a variety of flowers; the larvae are also fed pollen. Tentative identification to species.
