The Neuroptera includes the giant lacewings (Osmylidae), moth lacewings (Ithonidae), green lacewings (Chrysopidae), mantidflies (Mantispidae), split-footed lacewings (Nymphidae), antlions (Myrmeleontidae), and owlflies (Ascalaphidae). Adult Neuropterans have four membranous wings, which are usually similar in size and shape. The order contains ca. 6,000 species.
