Goldie 1822 |
Synonyms: Slenderleaf sundew |
Drosera linearis is a small, perennial herb found in Canada (from British Columbia to Newfoundland), and also in the adjacent United States, including Montana. It is most common on shores of the Great Lakes in Ontario and Michigan. This species grows in marl fens and on wet, limestone shores, often in a centimeter of water; up to 400 m asl. Leaf blades are covered with long, purple, gland-tipped hairs which trap insects. Drosera linearis flowers in June-August; the white flowers are borne in a narrow, open inflorescence at the tip of the stem.
