Scutellaria resinosa is a perennial herb confined to the Southern Great Plains in the United States (Kansas to Texas) and northern Mexico. This species grows on sandy, clayey or rocky soils in prairies, sandhills, tablelands and low mountains. Deep-violet-blue, tubular flowers can be seen in April through October.
