The family Corvidae includes the crows, ravens, jays, magpies, rooks, jackdaws, choughs, and nutcrackers. These are medium to large-size birds, the largest members of the order Passeriformes. The family contains 131 species combined into 24 genera. Over a third of the entire family is in the genus Corvus. Corvids are found nearly worldwide except for the Southern Cone of South America, most of South Pacific, and Antarctica.
