Butterflies and the skippers are a paraphyletic group included in the clade Rhopalocera; they differ from Moths (Heterocera) by their morphology (shape and structure of antennae, shape of the body, wing coupling, and pupae) and behaviour, including time of activity and resting posture. There are approximately 2,000 genera and 14,000 species.
